Specialist in paediatric orthopaedics

Dr. Giada Salvatori is a specialist in paediatric orthopaedics. She received her medical master’s degree from the University of Ferrara in December 2011, with the thesis:” The diaphyseal fractures in the developmental age. Comparison of different treatment techniques”. She received a degree in traumatology and orthopaedics from the University of Ferrara in August 2018. The specialisation thesis was:”Sex, familiarity and laterality can affect the degree of severity of the congenital club foot?”. The paper was written in co-operation with Dr. Lampasi, who was the chief of the Meyer Hospital in Florence at that time. During her paediatric orthopaedic training, she had the opportunity to attend several centers of international interest. In 2015, she spent a period of 2 months at the Royal Children Hospital in London (under the supervision of Prof. Manoj Ramachandran).
From September 2017 to February 2018, she was a specialist doctor in training at the Meyer Children Hospital in Florence. From October 2018 to April 2020, she worked at Meyer Hospital as Pediatric Orthopedic (chief Dr. Manuele Lampasi).
She received a visiting fellowship at the pediatric hospital of Coimbra in Portugal in June 2018, led by Cristina Alves, a reference figure in the European panorama of Paediatric Orthopaedics. In January 2019, she held an internship at the Clinic and Research Institute on the Congenital Club in Iowa City in the USA with Prof. J. Morcuende (heir of Prof. Ignacio Ponseti, from whom derives the method of treatment of clubfoot).
In July 2022, she obtained the II level University Master Degree in Paediatric Orthopaedics at the University of Pavia.

Updating activities

Dr. Salvatori attended several courses organized by the European Society of Paediatric Orthopaedics (EPOS), she also obtained the diploma of the trilogy of BAT courses in March 2018. She completed the basic and advanced courses on neonatal hip ultrasound organized by Prof. R. Graf (creator of the Graf method) and Dr. M. De Pellegrin.

Treated diseases, areas of specialization in paediatric orthopaedics

She deals with the main pathologies of the child from the neonatal age (hip dysplasia, congenital club-foot, myogenic torticollis, cerebral palsy, etc.) to adolescence (flatfoot, scoliosis, gait disorders, lower limb discrepancies).

Thanks to her numerous previous experiences, she particularly focused on the diagnosis and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hips and congenital club-foot.
